2015 Was a Good Year!
What an awesome season it was , and when time fly’s by so fast your head spins you got to slow it down , here is a little snippet from guiding last year and our fishing season of 2015 .
Spring fishing started at the beginning of May , it could not come fast enough after a very long and cold harsh winter kept water temps down and not to spring like . As the back bays hit a happy temp for the Bass they started their spring push but that only lasted a few weeks , then all the sudden almost every back bay was invaded by some very large narly Bluefish. It was just the kind of fun we needed as the Bluefish were taking plugs on top , metal and soft baits sub surface with reckless abandonment , they were a hoot for our customers to play catch and release with a snap shot for memories .
Once the weather got normal for a few week and then an above normal spell shot water temps up really fast and the big stripers packed up and moved out to deeper water and the schoolies moved in close , with just a short paddle distance from the launch area for our customers that are new to saltwater kayak fishing these young Bass provide a great thrill when a hook up takes place and turn into a worthy opponent all in a half a second , clients love to yell out , laugh and smile , some times it just works out .
July got hot and so did the summer Fluke fishing as these bad boys were laid up sipping on bait in the back country.
This guy was 24″ and 5lb 2oz and won the tournament . I liked him so much I brought him back to camp with me .
Fall came and went with a lot of time spent in my Native Watercraft first-class kayak seat and I prolly paddled my Slayer 14.5 than I pedaled the Propel 13 , I am a Paddler for sure . More posts to come with time on hand in winter months and I need to be more regimented on timely reports and posts. As I go through all my photos and video I see the whole season is a big blur , meeting and fishing with so many good people every week, I thank you, always keep traveling up and down the Jersey shore looking for that coastal kayak fishing adventure .
